Myrinix is built by using compressed filesystem which make it possible to run from windows partition, ex fat32 or NTFS. If you already have a windows running on you computer either windows 98 or XP. you may required to use wingrub in order to helps you run and install Grub without affect your current windows bootloader. WinGrub can be found in Myrinix CD.

Why do you need to install Myrinix to hard disk
1) you may treat it as a rescue OS when your windows can not boot up due to a lot of reasons.
2) it boots 10 times faster than booting from CDRom
3) it's a safe way to run Linux for beginner when you do not want to mess up your Windows.
4) Easy Upgrading, simply download new release of myrinix and replace with the exisiting files
5) this method also works for KNOPPIX and Kanotix

       bcdedit /set {id} device boot
       bcdedit /set {id} path \grldr.mbr
       bcdedit /displayorder {id} /addlast

Then copy grldr.mbr to C:\, grldr and menu.lst to the root directory of any FAT16/FAT32/NTFS/EXT2 partition.

grldr.mbr can also be used to start GRUB for DOS in Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 (in fact, grldr.mbr is basicly the first 16 sectors of grldr). To use grldr.mbr as the boot file, use the following line in boot.ini:

       C:\grldr.mbr="Start MYRINIX"
